The Israeli army announces an investigation into the execution of two Palestinians in Jenin despite their surrender yet they were executed in broad daylight in front of their families.

Channel 12 reported on Thursday that the Israeli occupation army announced it had opened an investigation into its forces shooting two Palestinians in Jenin, despite their “surrender, raising their hands and not posing a threat to the army forces.

Palestinian reports confirmed that the incident occurred after a tight siege of their location. Palestinian media outlets indicate that the incident represents a “cold-blooded” execution carried out inside the city of Jenin.

Tightened siege and escalating aggression

This killing comes amid escalating military operations by the occupation army in the cities and camps of the West Bank.
Palestinian media indicated that the execution took place in a warehouse in the Jabal Abi Dhahir area of Jenin, a warehouse that the occupation forces had completely surrounded.

The army’s announcement that it would open an investigation into the incident – and the reference to the Palestinians “surrendering and raising their hands” before the shooting – is considered an indirect admission of violating the rules of engagement and contravening international humanitarian law.
